A length of linerless printed film web curving in the studio

Roll fed labels

Roll fed labels are supplied as a continuous printed web with no liner, cut and applied by the labelling machine itself. They suit high-volume lines where liner waste and roll changes cost real money.

How it works

Because there is no release liner, more labels fit on a roll and there is no backing paper to dispose of. The labelling machine cuts each label from the web and applies it with adhesive, typically hot melt, at the moment of application.

  • High-speed filling

Fewer roll changes than pressure sensitive at the same volume.

  • Large volumes

The economics improve sharply as the run grows.

  • Cost per label matters

No liner means less material paid for and thrown away.

  • Compatible equipment

Requires a roll fed applicator rather than a pressure sensitive one.

What we'll ask you

Answering these up front is the fastest route to an accurate quote.

  • The make and model of your labelling machine, since roll fed specs are equipment specific.
  • Web width and repeat length, which are set by your applicator.
  • Whether your line already runs roll fed, as switching from pressure sensitive means new equipment.
